Why I write this blog?

When I tell people about my blog I am often asked why do I do it. I have two main reasons; to show those with autism that having someone that loves you is not impossible, and to show everyone else that autism is not something to run away from.

What gives me reason to write this?
In 2013 I met the most amazing girl, we hit it off and after the first few days she told me she was autistic. At first I wanted to run a mile, autism was not something I had known a lot about. All I could picture was that kid that sat in the back of class and never spoke to anyone, the one that everyone called weird.

Instead of running, I read up about autism, I asked her some really stupid questions and I took it all in, I looked past the label at the girl underneath and over a year later I am happy to say that my fiancee is still the most amazing girl I know.

Normal relationship
Yes, I write a blog about being in a same-sex relationship. Yes, I write about the good, bad and ugly of our relationship honestly and most of the time openly. Yes, we are like any other couple. We laugh, we cry, we annoy the hell out of each other at times, and I hope others can relate to this blog.

What I am saying…
Read it, share it, let me know what you think. Want to know something, ask me about it. I want to give an honest outlook on the ups and downs of being in love with someone who has autism.
